The motivation for this investigation in this paper is the development of a semantic social network portal (SSNP), which will support the efforts in enterprise training units to up-skill employees in the company and facilitate the creation and reuse of knowledge in online communities. A combination of a semantic web-based knowledge management framework and social network analysis features, enables social networking in the context of knowledge management for on-line communities and helps monitor the changing needs and skills of the work force in enterprise environments.
