The Talk

What I Covered

  • Data-ism sits at the centre of the 21st century’s trilemma. Climate change, financial crisis and technological disruption — quoting Aw Tee Kin’s framing, as credited on the slide.
  • The future of payments spans five forces, not one. Politics and regulation, economics, the social layer, operations, and technology — all shaping where payments go next.
  • New business models are already emerging. The crowd economy, the free/data economy, the smartness economy, closed-loop economies, and decentralised autonomous organisations.
  • The future of the supply chain runs through blockchain. Blockchain’s core contribution is a shared, tamper-resistant record — turning supply chains from opaque, siloed systems into something every participant can verify.
  • Decentralisation is the core argument behind Web 3.0 (or DWeb). Moving control away from any single company or platform, toward infrastructure no one party owns or can unilaterally shut down.
  • DAOs run on real infrastructure — DAOstack, specifically. The DAOstack project builds a modular, open-source software stack for DAOs: a library of governance protocols and interfaces for creating and managing them.
